EXTENDED RECALL ANNOUNCED
In March 2007, three additional production runs of Stand 'n Seal (that were produced in 2005) were recalled due to respiratory injuries to consumers. The 3 added batch numbers are: A21825, A31825, and A11835. The batch numbers are located on the bottom of the cans. Toxic Chemicals in Stand 'N Seal Spray-On Grout Sealer Caused Severe Lung Damage
On August 31, 2005, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced the recall of 300,000 cans of Stand 'N Seal Grout Sealer, which had been sold exlusively at Home Depot stores throughout the United States. The recalled lot numbers are:
Many people were hospitalized and suffered severe lung damage after using Tile Perfect Stand n Seal Spray-on Grout Sealer. "It's like cold air that just choked me up, and I went into a coughing fit that I could not stop," said one of the injured men. "I got sick and in the process was unable to breathe and my wife told me I'd gone into convulsions, which I don't remember, but she was on the phone with 911," said the other.
“We are hearing from potential clients all over the nation, and even now we're surprised at the amount of people being affected like this, being hospitalized for this," said attorney Scott Callahan. Read the full story.
